A club meeting in the

‘Crow’s Nest’

Cilla Draper

Cilla, a Lancashire lass, is a retired care worker who has always loved to draw. She moved to Aberaeron in 2000 and thought that she had found her little bit of heaven. It made her feel that she wanted to capture the beauty of the place.

Having read many books and undertaken a few watercolour courses she joined the New Quay Art Club. Here she was encouraged to become more adventurous, try different media and develop new ways of seeing things.  Her favourite media at present are acrylics and oils. She is enjoying her journey of discovery and practice of her new skills.

Cilla says, "I love the art club and it's members. We have some great afternoons together and it is good to mix with people that share the same interests."

Mo Scurr

After 40 years as a nurse Mo retired from a senior position and moved to Wales with her husband in 2004. Since then she has been able to develop her interest in drawing and painting.

Her main passion is gardening which is now being indulged in a major project. She and her husband are creating a ¾ acre garden, from scratch, on a very steep hillside against which their cottage nestles. Her love of painting comes a close second.

Mo enjoys using a variety of media; water-mixable oils and pastels being her favourites. Her garden, the beautiful Welsh countryside and the Seasons provide a rich source of subject matter.

Tina Couch

Tina was brought up and educated on the coast of the south east of England.  Her further education was in Durham, in the north of England, where she trained to be a teacher, specialising in Art & Crafts.

Her interest and enjoyment of drawing and painting was not totally fulfilled until she came to live in west Wales.  Here she found that she not only had the time but also the inspiration to encourage her to take up her brushes.

Tina enjoys painting in all media and endeavours to capture local scenes as well as the local characters that live in this area.

Ina Parry

Ina was born, educated and married in Liverpool. Through work she has lived in Powys, South Glamorgan, Kent and Buckinghamshire.  After bringing up her children and a long career in industry she retired and moved to Ceredigion with her husband in 2003.

The stunning scenery of the coast and countryside has been her inspiration.  She tries to capture the changing mood of the sea and sky in her paintings that have become a very important part of her life.
